The title is a bit unfortunate but this is a cracking EP from this two piece band featuring Freya Monks and Finian Divilly. I was given this on a recent coffee outing by my musical chum Dan Hegarty who very generously always hands me a musical treat or two when we meet. This is no exception, a real beaut of an EP which Cocophone themselves call experimental folk – OK, if you say so but I’d just call it really nice acoustic music with the odd bit of discordant edge to it. You’ll see what I mean when I play track 1 ‘Special Offers’ tonight betwixt the hour of 5 and 6.30. either side of Bruce Springsteen and Bon Iver. Get the rolling machine out! Oh Yeah!
